Massuri is an ethical brand creating tailored garments for the woman who appreciates fashion that is timeless, stylish & individual. Created by designer Galit Massuri who has a passion for simplicity in design and attention to detail and whose collectible pieces dare to transcend the seasons of all.
Inspired by a love of all things vintage and formed through her early creative endeavours, Galit creates limited edition designs that ensure every woman feels comfortable, sophisticated & acknowledges her own unique beauty. During a time Galit spent in Italy, where her early creations were realised, Massuri was readily embraced by local European women. It encouraged her to persist and follow her heart to Australia, where she continues to seamlessly infuse the flirtations of the old world with classic modernity in her designs.
Massuri offers uniquely crafted garments, adorned with special detailing & trims to create distinctive designs that accentuate the feminine form. The collection features well cut, high quality pieces that last, made from natural fibres using exclusive prints. The materials I use are limited & make each piece individual. I enjoy adding pockets to my garments as I know how much we love them. I generally make a maximum of six dresses per fabric. As a designer I love to interact with my customers & provide them with an individual & special experience, helping them to realise their own inherent beauty. Massuri is not about making collections but about a personal creative journey and inspirations. I love what I do & it’s great to share this on a regular basis with my cherished customers.
Galit can follow the journey of each garment from conception to completion all within the local area of Byron Bay. Designs begin in Galits’ solar powered studio in Byron Bay. They travel to her cutter who lives locally and also runs his business on solar energy. They then move to a seamstress once again supporting a local member of the community. Massuri further supports local business in areas such as advertising, printing and marketing.
All garments are made from natural fibres and of limited edition ensuring minimal fabric is left over from a collection. As much as possible recycling occurs within the business from waste, to reusing clothing tags to minimal packaging from recycled materials. Galit is very conscious of creating a light footprint in the area she works and lives.
The current collection is available from the Designer’s studio in the Arts and Industry Estate in Byron Bay (Click here for address), online and in stores around Australia.
